This mature cluster of Conophytum crateriforme (Vaalheuwel) is a striking and character-rich specimen, showcasing the distinctive body shape and refined surface detail for which this species is prized. Over time it has developed into a dense, well-knit clump of numerous paired heads, forming a compact, cushion-like mound with strong visual presence and a clear sense of age and stability.

The individual bodies are typically flattened to slightly domed with a characteristic shallow, crater-like depression on the top surface, giving each head a sculptural, sculpted appearance. Coloration commonly ranges from cool grey-green to bluish tones, often enhanced by subtle mottling, fine speckling, or delicate surface textures that add depth and individuality. As the cluster enlarges, the repetition of these cratered forms creates a fascinating mosaic effect across the entire clump.

When in bloom, Conophytum crateriforme produces delicate, slender-petaled flowers that emerge from the central fissures, adding a graceful seasonal accent above the compact bodies. On a mature cluster, multiple blooms scattered across the surface can create a subtle yet enchanting display. With its distinctive form, attractive surface character, and locality-specific appeal, this Vaalheuwel form is an excellent addition for collectors who appreciate sculptural detail and classic Conophytum beauty.
