Lophophora fricii ‘Ooibo × Ibo’ (6–7 cm specimen) is a highly refined Japanese hybrid that fully embodies the results of meticulous selective breeding. At this size, the plant has reached a mature stage where its defining characteristics are clearly expressed, showcasing the balance of structure, symmetry, and visual impact that this cultivar is celebrated for.

The body displays bold, well-developed ribs and pronounced, sculptural tubercles, creating a strong architectural presence. Its pale, almost white to soft blue-green epidermis enhances this structure, giving the plant a clean, luminous quality that highlights every contour and detail.

At maturity, the symmetry and proportion of the plant become especially striking, with each rib and growth point contributing to a harmonious, highly refined form. This is where the true intent of the ‘Ooibo × Ibo’ breeding line becomes evident—precision, consistency, and standout visual character.

During the flowering season, it produces vivid pink blooms that provide a brilliant contrast against its pale body, adding an extra layer of appeal to an already impressive specimen.

At 6–7 cm, this is no longer a developing plant but a fully realised example of this exceptional hybrid—offering immediate impact and a strong presence within any serious collection.
