A magnificent, large and exceptionally chunky Trichocereus scopulicola, offered as a well-established, rooted cutting measuring an impressive approx.44cm from the soil line.
Often referred to as an almost spineless cactus, Trichocereus scopulicola is a highly sought-after species native to Bolivia. It was first documented by renowned cactus explorer Friedrich Ritter in 1958, following his expedition through South America.
This species is known for its vigorous growth and notably thick, robust stems, often developing considerably more girth than the familiar San Pedro (Trichocereus pachanoi). Given warm conditions and an optimum growing environment, T. scopulicola can eventually reach heights of around 4 metres.
A particularly impressive feature of mature plants is their spectacular large white, fragrant flowers, which open at night during the summer flowering period, typically from around July.
This is a substantial specimen with excellent presence, making it a fantastic addition to a collector's Trichocereus collection.
Caution: Toxic if eaten.
